Your Maternity Photo Shoot Guide
Yay! You’ve booked your session and have a vague idea of the photos you’d like to capture on the day. Here’s some tips to help us get the most from this special session.
Where?
Chances are you already have somewhere in mind for your maternity session. From the beach to greenery, we are spoilt with locations in our area. Where do you like to spend time? Have a scroll through my previous shoots and see if you’re inspired by any locations.
Here’s some options to consider:
Beach: Town, Oxley, Lighthouse (& the Little Bay beside the Lighthouse), Grants Head.
At your place for a truly personal session
Greenery: There are many beautiful walking tracks which offer stunning leafy shots.
Urban: For a more edgy session, we can hold your session in town.
Clothes
This is one of the most common questions I am asked. In reality, keep it simple and comfortable. Perhaps you have a favourite dress you’ve been wearing during your pregnancy, or jeans and a crop top/bra.
I also have a client wardrobe available for maternity sessions. That includes the lacy kimono wraps you see pictured on this page, in baby pink, white and black.
In addition. I have several dresses in creamy tones and one white tulle gown. All pictured in the gallery below.
Who?
This is YOUR session. It can be just you, or yourself and your partner, mum, children, dogs… you get the drift.
I structure the session to include a variety of photos to ensure we capture all the important shots!
Hopefully that has given you a few things to consider & get excited about!
